Description:
- large evergreen tree, conifer
- etymology: Cedrus is the Latin name; atlantica = of the Atlas Mountains’ ‘Glauca’ = glaucous (whitish-greyish waxy coating)
- leaves needle-like, 1/3”–1” long; in star-like clusters
- needles in cultivar ‘Glauca’ are silvery-blue
- cones erect, 2”-3”
- drought-resistant
- 1 of just 3 species of true cedar (Cedrus)
- this species native to Atlas Mts., Morocco, Algeria.
