Description:
  • deciduous shrub
  • etymology: Hydrangea from Greek hydor for water, and aggos for a jar; quercifolia = oak-leaved
  • leaves opposite; oak-like in shape, hence the common and scientific names
  • flowers white, in large showy panicles (branching clusters)
  • prefers partial shade
  • common ornamental
