Description:
  • evergreen tree, conifer
  • etymology: Pinus = the Latin name; sylvestris = woodland
  • also called Skotch pine
  • needles in 2’s; yellow-green, 3”-4” long
  • cones 1 ½”-2 ½” long; old cones remain on tree
  • upper trunk and branches bright orange
