  • Rhododendron is toxic (including honey); contains grayanotoxins
  • cultivated ornamental; native to several continents; many thousands of different cultivars
  • “azaleas” and “rhododendrons” are in the same genus Rhododendron (among native species of Rhododendron in the northeastern U.S., azaleas are deciduous, and rhododendrons are evergreen). Four species are native to Delaware
